National Talent Academy for Film & TV Announces Selected Projects for 2025 First Credit Short Film Scheme and NTA Short Film Fund 

These flagship initiatives aim to support both emerging and established professionals working in the Irish screen industry. 

The  National Talent Academy (NTA) for Film & Television has announced the six teams selected for its 2025 First Credit Short Film Scheme and NTA Short Film Fund. These flagship initiatives aim to support both emerging and established professionals working in the Irish screen industry. Congratulations to the talented writers and creative teams selected.

The 2025 selected projects are:

First Credit Short Film Scheme 

This scheme supports individuals who are new to the screen industry and seeking to gain their first professional funded credits as writer, director, or producer: 

  • 4C 

Logline: Anxious and excited to meet new people, Tobi a black man with mesmerising hair, is invited to a dinner party. Swarmed by the party guests, they grab and pull his afro for a euphoric out of body experience.

  • Babysitter 

Logline: Ray is a dedicated single Mother whose social life has been on hold since her daughter arrived. She is attempting to go on a date that has been put off multiple times. Could tonight be different?

  • Let Go 

Logline: Two Irish teenage girls obsessed with Avril Lavigne were always outsiders, but when one joins the cool gang, the other learns who she really is.

  • You Need to Leave 

Logline: A night of passion spirals into dread when a man finds himself trapped in a bedroom with nowhere to run

NTA Short Film Fund 

This fund is aimed at professionals currently working in the industry who wish to transition into new creative roles. 

  • The Race 

Logline: A family gathers at the home of their grandfather on his last living day. But their ulterior motives are rattled when the racehorse he owns is a domestic myth.

  • The Parting 

Logline: A 9-year-old girl gains control amidst family chaos by striving for her hair’s perfect parting and pigtails, becoming self-reliant despite emotional turmoil.
