Comórtas – Físín is open for applications for submissions of a short film proposal in the Irish language.

The project targets and encourages filmmaking in Irish. The Físín competition does not favour any particular genre and is open to submissions in all categories

The competition cash prize is worth €6,000 for the overall winner with an additional €2,000 worth of film equipment hire from Vast Valley Ltd. The winner has one year to then complete their short with mentorship from the Físín team.

A panel of judges from the industry will long-list up to ten submissions to participate in a script and production development weekend held in Dingle, after which up to five entrants will be shortlisted to pitch live in Irish to the panel.

Deadline for submitting ideas is 5th January 2025
