The Heinrich Böll Association invites writers and artists of all disciplines to the residency at the Heinrich Böll Cottage. This is a unique retreat, ideal for those who want a quiet and inspiring stay far away from the normal intrusions of everyday life. The aim is for guests to be able to concentrate fully on their work, while using Achill Island as a source of inspiration and a possible subject for their endeavours. The residency programme is funded by Mayo County Council and the Arts Council of Ireland.

Applications are accepted for the cottage up to September 30th each year for inclusion in the following year’s residency.
