This course taking place on Tuesday, 20th and Wednesday, 21st February 2024 from 10am to noon each day is a comprehensive program designed to empower filmmakers with the knowledge and skills to actively contribute to anti-racist efforts within the industry. Participants will explore the entire filmmaking process, from script development to post-production, with a focus on dismantling racial biases and fostering inclusivity.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

Gain insights into anti-racism and familiarise themselves with terminologies associated with anti-racism.
Understand racism in the Irish context and the dimensions of racism
Develop skills to identify and actively challenge racial biases embedded in scripts.
Implement practices that break racial stereotypes through meaningful and diverse casting.
Foster and embody anti-racist values in directing and producing roles.
Address racial disparities by actively building diverse, inclusive, and equitable filmmaking teams.
Harness post-production techniques to challenge racial narratives and promote authentic and inclusive representation in the final product.
