Safe to Create Programme

Training courses to address negative behaviours for all workplaces in theatre, the audiovisual sector.

As part of the Safe to Create Programme, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media has developed a number of training courses to address negative behaviours for all workplaces in theatre, the audiovisual sector and indeed all of the culture and creative sector.  Workplaces include any place where creative work takes place and includes employees, self-employed, freelancers, contractors and volunteers. The courses are free of charge, online, self-led, accredited and can be done at any time day or night.

There are three training courses and it is hoped that the majority of people in the sector will do all of them.  For those in employment or seeking employment in the arts, audiovisual or creative sectors, the courses would be a valuable addition to their CVs.  The courses, each of which takes about an hour, are

1.            Addressing Unconscious Bias

2.            Tackling Bullying and Harassment at work

3.            Being an active Bystander in the arts and creative sectors.

The three courses are at this link –     Screen Ireland: Log in to the site

You will need to create a new Account and then that will bring you into a Dashboard where you can then choose the courses (some will already have accounts).  Don’t forget to generate your certificate to show you completed the course.

SAFE TO CREATE is a Dignity at Work programme. Its aim is to impact change on the culture and practices of the arts sector in Ireland to provide safer working conditions for artists and arts workers.
