New History Writers Workshop

This one-day event brings together writers that are writing about history for online programming.

The New History Writers Workshop takes place on 20th August 2022 at Ghan House in Carlingford, County Louth, Ireland. This one-day event brings together writers that are writing about history for online programming, including YouTube and other social media and streaming platforms. Writers of all stripes have never had more avenues available for reaching an audience of interested readers and viewers. Whether you’re beginning or well into your journey as a writer, you’ll learn from experts on better research and writing techniques for new media.

Scriptwriters will learn about primary sources from various eras of Irish history, how they’re becoming available online, and how to use them to achieve greater fidelity to historical characters, places, and events. More-and-more people are getting their knowledge of history and a sense of their own culture online, from entertainment and educational programming alike. This is especially true for young people. The aim is to share methods and resources that will help writers get history right.

The workshop will be held from 9:00 to 5:30

The location offers a great meeting space, nearby restaurants and pubs, and inspiring historical attractions – https://www.ghanhouse.com/.
