Animation Innovation and Immersive Development Fund

This year’s €350,000 fund is designed to reach diverse and highly skilled talent from the animation and immersive storytelling sectors.

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and Animation Ireland have announced the second iteration of the Animation Innovation and Immersive Development Fund for 2022. Last year, as part of a Government Support Package for the animation sector, Screen Ireland invested in 10 innovative, high-concept development and business growth opportunities.

This year’s €350,000 fund is designed to reach diverse and highly skilled talent from the animation and immersive storytelling sectors, supporting projects across a wide range of genres and formats that anticipate high-value national and international success. The fund continues Screen Ireland’s ambition to highlight Ireland as a centre of excellence in animation and diversifying the scale and breadth of what the industry has to offer. The fund is designed to allow the sector to explore new opportunities offered by emerging technologies, support the development of IP and new, innovative ways of storytelling.

Andrew Byrne, Television Project Manager at Screen Ireland, said:

“We are delighted to continue investment in new avenues of animation support and development, and to encourage continued innovation across the sector. This year, we are also targeting further opportunities to invest in the cross-pollination of a diverse range of talent within immersive storytelling and drive new creative opportunities on all screens.”

Applications will be received via Animation Ireland and full guidelines for the fund are available here.

The deadline for applications to the Animation Innovation and Immersive Development Fund is 1pm, Wednesday, 16th March 2022.
