UCC Creative in collaboration with Gleann a’ Phúca & UCC’s Environmental Research Institute / Dance Cork Firkin Crane Dance or Theatre Artist Commission have issued an open call for submissions to be presented at Glen River Park, Cork City as part of World Rivers Day – Sun 22nd Sept 2024

The call is to make a 10 – 15 min Dance or Theatre performance / engagement in collaboration with the Glen River in Glen River Park, Cork City to be presented as part of Gleann a’ Phúca’s celebration of World Rivers Day on Sun 22^nd Sept 2024. This can involve work with local communities of interest or be a solo performance.

UCC Creative is interested to support work which wonders into how connection with an urban park and its river might shift sensibilities of wellbeing, care, agency and play in a positive way and in a context of climate emergency / anxiety. UCC Creative will also facilitate engagement with UCC Scientists working on waterways research.

The fee is €3000 plus a €500 materials budget. The fee is costed at 20 days of engagement including the final performance on Sun 22^nd Sept.
