BAFTA member and award-winning producer Carl Schoenfeld is running his popular screenwriting workshop again in 2024. Aimed at emerging screenwriters and writers with experience of characterisation, structure and genre, the workshop starts with a discussion of the beat sheet as a foundation for writing. Film writer participants then submit 10 pages each week towards a film script, whilst TV writers set out characters, story world and episode structure before writing a pilot. Attendees will engage in “table reads” of everyone’s creative work, leading to both nurturing and challenging feedback. My previous participants got into prestigious festival labs, had work optioned and produced including on BBC and Netflix.
