This year’s Oscars proved to be a memorable night for Irish talent. An Irish Goodbye, written and directed by Tom Berkeley and Ross White, won Best Live Action Short Film, while Richard Baneham won his second Oscar for best visual effects as part of the team behind Avatar: The Way of Water.  

The writing-and-directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, won three Oscars for Everything Everywhere All at Once, including best original screenplay, and the film itself nabbed seven across the multiverse.

Sarah Polley picked up an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Women Talking (adapted from the Miriam Toews’ novel).
