George B. Miller Award

The Award invites playwrights from all horizons of Ireland to submit their ideas for plays to be staged by Youth Theatre.

SCRIPTS – Ireland’s Playwriting Festival, in association with Youth Theatre Ireland, launch the first-ever George B. Miller Award and invites playwrights from all horizons of Ireland to submit their ideas for plays to be staged by Youth Theatres. Scripts and YTI have created a bespoke development opportunity for three playwrights to create new works for the stage, under a mentorship programme via the George B. Miller Award.

They are seeking ideas for plays aimed at young ensembles aged 11-14 years old.

Selected playwrights will begin a process of writing, mentorship, and performance. Through dramaturgical support and feedback from industry professionals, playwrights will receive valuable critique and guidance to craft their play from initial ideas to page onto the stage.

Closing Date 22 April.
