JOIN US FOR WGI AGM 2025!

.

Dear Members,

We are delighted to invite you to our 23rd AGM, which will take place on Thursday, October 23rd at 2pm at the Trinity City Hotel, Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

The AGM is your opportunity to hear directly from us about what we’ve been doing, and what our plans are for next year. You’ll get to hear our reports on the activities the Guild has undertaken on your behalf in the last year, and vote in our Board elections if you’re a Full member. It’s also your chance to meet other Guild members as well as the Board; to be part of the conversation and to ask any questions that you’ve been wondering about. I hope we get to see as many of you as possible there in person and that you’ll join us for a drink afterwards at the hotel bar.

Article 41 of the Constitution of the Company requires that one-third of the Board stand down at the AGM. Article 42 requires that the longest serving members of the Board stand down, although they may resubmit themselves for re-election. Excluding Board members who have been elected or re-elected in recent years, this year three Board members are required to stand down at the AGM. Those board members are Martin Boylan, John Lynch and Ursula Rani Sarma. This year two of those outgoing board members, Martin and Ursula, have chosen not to present themselves for re-election. As a result there are two vacancies on the board, one for a female or non-binary board member, and one for a male or non-binary board member. As per the Guild’s EDI Policy, when we refer to male and female board members, the WGI intends an inclusive definition of men. We are welcoming and respectful of men and women, including trans men and women and those that are non-binary, gender non-conforming, and any others who experience womanhood and manhood in a way that is significant to them.

Members who wish to stand for election for this vacancy are asked to contact the Guild to declare their intention to stand, by 17th October 2025  by email to info[@]script.ie. Any members who wish to discuss standing for the board should contact Guild Chair Jennifer Davidson at the same address.

Members who can’t attend the AGM but wish to vote by proxy can request a proxy form from WGI Executive Director Ciarán Hayden ciaran[@]script.ie Completed proxy forms must be returned before 5pm on 17th October 2025.

Please RSVP by 17th October 2025 to: info[at]script.ie
