Dear Members,

Have you signed a contract or been asked to sign a contract stating that you accept your fee to be “proportionate” or “fair and proportionate” regardless of the future financial success of a project?

Think about this for a moment.

How can a fee be “proportionate” to a figure that is as-yet-unknown? And how could agreeing to such a clause ever be “fair”?

If this rings a bell, we’d love to hear from you. And if you receive a contract containing this clause? Just don’t sign it.
