To all our wonderful members, 

We’re delighted to announce that award-winning writer Nancy Harris will be our special guest at this year’s AGM, which takes place in the Hyatt Centric in Dublin’s Liberties on 30^th June from 2pm. As well as being the writer and creator of ‘The Dry’, Nancy has written extensively for TV and theatre with her plays having been staged in the Abbey, The Gate, The Druid, The Lyric Theatre Belfast and many more. We’re absolutely chuffed that she’s taking some time out of her incredibly busy schedule to join us on the day. 

We’re also extremely grateful to our wonderful friends and formidable comrades Alice Shearman (NZ Writers’ Guild) and Claire Pullen (Australian Writers’ Guild), who have very generously agreed to record sessions on AI and Copyright, as well as collective bargaining, which we’ll screen on the day.

As members, you’ll have just received official notification of the AGM, as well as some important information regarding Board re-elections as per the WGI constitution. Please take some time to read this communication.

And then? Come along.

This is your Guild. We want to meet you, we want to hear your thoughts, and we want to let you know about the work we’ve been doing on your behalf. We’d love to see you all making new connections, and maybe even rekindling old ones. It’s an important day of the year, and we have lots to discuss and to celebrate.
