Dear members,

This is your final reminder to register for next week’s AGM if you haven’t already done so. Registering will ensure that we have enough ballot sheets, printed reports, tea, coffee, and biscuits on the day.

We’ll be in The Hyatt Centric in the Liberties from 2pm on Tuesday 30th June.

Before the end of this week, all members will receive our writer’s survey for 2025. There will be questions on everything from the income you earned to the contracts you received, to AI, to your general feelings about the industry. Please do your best to answer as many questions as you can, as best you can. And do not feel stressed or intimidated. As you’ll see in the survey itself, “approximate” figures will serve our needs just fine, and the whole thing should take no more than 15 minutes from start to finish.

You will have two weeks to complete the survey.

Rest assured that the details you provide are 100% confidential, and the data we gather will be invaluable In helping us to understand the needs of our members, and the challenges you face.

Finally, it has recently come to my attention that several of our newer members – with legitimate applications – are having difficulty securing the Artist’s Exemption from Revenue. If this has happened to you, and you haven’t already been in touch, please contact me directly at [email protected].
