Storyland 2026
We highlight some points to remember if you are shortlisted!
Published on 4 March 2026
Storyland came early this year… so don’t get caught on the hop.
Here in the Guild, we love RTÉ’s Storyland. It’s an important scheme that highlights emerging writing talent, and has provided a springboard for many successful careers. But we’re increasingly mindful of how many complete newcomers to the industry apply each year – both as writers and producers. This year will be no different.
So, if you’re lucky (talented) enough to be shortlisted, please remember:
- You will be asked by your producer to sign a contract.
- Request this contract as early as possible.
- Once you have a contract, contact the Guild for advice.
- Don’t feel pressured by your producer into signing anything in haste because of a deadline.
- Don’t sign anything without knowing and understanding what you’re signing.
Good luck!
