Words Across Europe
Words Across Europe is a paid, industry-focused programme designed for established TV screenwriters who are EU residents or EU passport holders.
From May to July, 9 selected writers from across Europe will work together in an immersive virtual writers’ room, powered by VR technology delivered directly to each participant. This isn’t a skills course. It’s a working writers’ room with a clear industry pipeline. Participants collaborate on storylines, develop pilots in dedicated writers’ rooms, and pitch directly to TV producers and commissioners.
Along the way, they’ll receive mentorship from executives at HBO, BBC, Roku, Warner Bros and more, with a focus not just on craft, but on the business side of television (co-productions, packaging, and getting shows made).
Each writer receives a €1,000 fee, use of a VR headset for the duration of the programme, and access to a professional network spanning European broadcasting, streaming, and production.
The programme is conducted entirely in English, with a focus on English-language productions.
Deadline for applications is 7th April 2026.
