Award-winning producer and BAFTA member Carl Schoenfeld is running this popular screenwriting workshop for the 30th time in April.

Aimed at writers with experience in characterisation, structure and genre – so welcoming those crossing over from other formats like novels, plays and journalism – the workshop starts with a discussion of the beat sheet as a foundation to map out the story. Feature film writers then share 10 pages each week towards a film script, whilst TV writers first set out characters, story world and episode structure before writing a pilot. Attendees engage in ‘table reads’ of everyone’s writing, leading to both nurturing and challenging feedback.

Writers previously worked with have got into prestigious festival labs, had work optioned and produced including on BBC and Netflix.
