It was an honour to represent the Writers’ Guild of Ireland at the recent industry gathering to say farewell to Uachtarán Michael D Higgins.

A highlight of the evening was the screening of Báite, written by our own Sheena Lambert.

Michael D. has long been a champion of the film & tv sector, from his involvement in the establishment of the Irish Film Board and his instrumental role in the formation of TG4. Irelands first Minister for the Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht, his understanding of and passion for the arts and artists made him a genuine champion for all of us who work in this sector, and we can be certain that his legacy will have a lasting impact.
