2009 Best Television Script Award Winner for Father and Son

Frank Deasy was a writer and producer known for his work on films such as Prozac Nation and Captives as well as several pieces for broadcast television.  He also won an Emmy Award for his work on the program Prime Suspect. He died in September 2009 in Scotland, and in his honor an award for Scottish writers was created called The Frank Deasy Award.

His script for Father and Son depicts a gang boss who is forced to return to Manchester from rural Ireland after his son is found guilty for murder.
