| Ep. 1 | Peter McKenna | RTÉ1 |
Click to toggle synopsisAs the new series of The Clinic hits our screens, we find Cathy lying in a coma fighting for her life after being struck down by Niall Boylan.
Daisy returns from her trip abroad with Conor to be by her stricken cousin's side and to provide some comfort to Dan, who has been keeping a constant vigil by Cathy's bedside since the accident, willing her to live.
New receptionist Ruairi is introduced to us as he balances working in the clinic with his other life as a DJ in a trendy Dublin nightclub, while practice manager Cara bumps up her status by overseeing the building of her new office.
Liam's son Ian is in trouble yet again. This time he's caught joyriding in his friend's car and is asked to leave his school after too many warnings of bad behaviour. Liam is beside himself and now must somehow find the money to send Ian to a private school, putting a severe financial strain on the family.
Lorcan and Clodagh continue to enjoy their growing closeness as they work together to keep the clinic afloat in the absence of two of their doctors. Everyone is under immense pressure as a result of this staff shortage, and Julia eventually agrees with Lorcan and Cara to bring in a locum to help relieve the workload.

| Ep. 2 | Peter McKenna | RTÉ1 |
Click to toggle synopsisDan's grief over Cathy's death is overshadowed by his obsession with hearing that Niall Boylan will escape relatively free from a serious conviction. Dan's solicitor warns Dan to stay away from Niall.
Meanwhile, new locum Dr Grace Sefate makes an impact on her first day when her belongings turn up before her unceremoniously dumped in reception by an aggrieved lover. This unusual entrance immediately gives Grace an air of intrigue but she immediately asserts herself as a capable and dedicated doctor.
Lorcan starts to struggle with his illness, now that he is on a harsh course of anti-retroviral medication for his HIV and this sees him becoming increasingly moody and agitated. Julia especially, picks up on his mood swings and though he puts it down to over-work, Julia reminds him she is always there for him to talk to if he needs it.
Cara has well and truly stepped into Molly's shoes by becoming a surrogate mother to Kieran and Molly's baby, Hope. Kieran has found himself relying on Cara more and more, to her delight.
For Julia and Dan, life must go on and their attention is brought to Cathy's shares of the Clinic. When Cathy's will is read however, there is a surprise in store for all involved.

| Ep. 3 | Peter McKenna and Victoria Madden 1 | RTÉ 1 |
Click to toggle synopsisJulia's new companion, Michael, is the soon to be retiring Hospital Director of St. Matthew's. He's keen for Julia to take over the job but she tells him she likes being able to help people and is happy where she is at the Clinic. However, Julia's desire to help people is severely tested when a long standing patient of hers discovers she is pregnant for the fourth time and places Julia in an unenviable dilemma.
Dan continues his thirst for revenge on Niall Boylan by entertaining his wife, Aideen. He discovers her love of art and beguiles her with a rare glimpse at a private collection in Dublin.
Clodagh takes a leap of faith into the unknown by agreeing to help out on the night clinic and the methadone bus. She is moved by Lorcan's dedication to his clients and by the plight of the addicts.
Ruairi meets a girl, Lisa, whilst DJ-ing at Ish-Ka night club, and is smitten. However, he is devastated to discover that she is engaged and seeing Patrick for couple's counselling with her fiancé.
As Alice waits for Lorcan to arrive home, she tells Dan how much she'd love to work in the Clinic if anything came up. Lorcan jumps to the wrong conclusion about Alice and Dan. He feels guilty when she reveals that she has no where to live and asks her to move in with him.

| Ep. 4 | Carol Ann Docherty, Aileen Docherty | RTÉ 1 |
Click to toggle synopsisLorcan speaks to Dr Kent about his fears of getting involved with someone given his HIV status and seeks to create some distance between him and Clodagh by asking Alice to help out on the night clinic. Influenced by her dealings with a patient, Clodagh ponders the level of commitment required to look after someone who is debilitated.
Keelin has her own worries to deal with when she notices that a young client's fitness levels have gone through the roof. At first Keelin is delighted but then her worst come true when he suffers a heart attack. Keelin feels guilty she did not do more.
After a rocky start at his new school, Ian and Liam agree an uneasy truce. However, Liam's judgment is impaired due to the Rocusin tablets and he jumps to conclusions about Ian. Liam arrives home to see Ian's old bad-news buddies Phil and Martin, outside the house. He explodes at Ian and hits him without hearing his side of the story. The truce between Ian and Liam is broken.
Grace opens up to Ruairi about her missing sister Jasmine when he finds one of her flyers on the photocopier. Ruairi offers to help if she needs it.

Click to toggle synopsisKeelin and Ronan are trying for their first child when their world is turned upside-down. Ronan notices Ian hanging around with his delinquent mates Martin and Phil, and ignores Keelin's advice to leave well alone. Ian's mates become aggressive, and Martin hits Ronan with an iron bar. Ian flees and Ronan is left on the ground as Keelin rushes over. Ronan is brought to hospital and though the operation to repair his spine is deemed a success, there is no guarantee he will ever walk again. Supported by Clodagh, Keelin tells Ronan she'll be with him every step of the way to recovery.
Liam learns of Ian's involvement in the attack and makes Ian tell the Gardai exactly what happened. Liam's attempts to apologise to Keelin are initially rebuked, only for the pair to finally make their peace. Shaken by the events, Liam's Rocusin addiction begins to take hold.
Ruairi's Dad, Franny, comes to stay with him, having left Ruairi's mother. Bothered by a constant sore throat, Franny is convinced by Ruairi to go and see Grace, who notices a worrying-looking mole behind Franny's ear. His lymph nodes are also swollen. Concerned, Grace sends Franny for a biopsy. Franny returns with grim news
the oncologist believes the mole to be malignant.
Cracks begin to appear in Daisy and Conor's relationship as Daisy struggles to juggle her work with her home-life. Daisy returns home one night to find Conor entertaining Lillian, a beautiful cellist
alarm bells begin to ring. Daisy also suspects that Conor has stopped taking his meds.
Aside from her relationship troubles, Daisy has to contend with Cara's absence from work. After Kieran and Hope's departure, it is left to Daisy to pick up the pieces of her devastated friend's life
convincing her to seek help in the form of counselling.

| Ep. 6 | John Forte | RTÉ 1 |
Click to toggle synopsisUnder the influence of Rocusin, Liam loses a prescription given to him by Grace for their patient, Joan. To cover his mistake, Liam gives Joan a sample drug - unaware of her allergy to penicillin. When Joan suffers a reaction, Liam puts the blame squarely on Grace. Liam then stoops even lower by convincing Joan to back up his story. Alice recognises Liam's erratic behaviour as signs of drug addiction and shows Lorcan some empty bottles of Rocusin she finds in Liam's room. When Liam tries to get more Rocusin, he discovers that Lorcan has put a stop on the prescriptions. Lorcan confronts Liam, who admits to his drug abuse and then comes clean to Julia about the incident with Joan. Grace is in the clear. Liam is suspended from work but assures Ian and Aoife that he'll sort himself out with their help.
Dan waits at the airport for Aideen but there is no sign of her. Prompted by numerous phone messages left by Dan, Aideen shows up at the Clinic and tells Dan to leave her alone. However, Dan doesn't take heed - and is confronted by Niall Boylan outside the Clinic. Niall then drops the bombshell that he is not to be charged for Cathy's death.
Grace is devastated to discover that a sighting of her sister is a false alarm. Ruairi helps her replace the faded missing person posters with updated, colour versions of Jasmine to ensure it won't happen again.
Ruairi is continuing to sleep with Lisa behind her fiancé's back. What's more, Ruairi is smitten, though Lisa insists that what she has with him is just a bit of fun - she is going to go ahead and marry Seán. Seán then notices a spark of attraction between them in Ish-Ka and threatens Ruairi. After Lisa's final session with Patrick, Ruairi puts his heart on the line, only to be rejected by Lisa - she needs to be with someone like Sean - solid and dependable - everything Ruairi is not.

| Ep. 7 | Marcus Fleming | RTÉ 1 |
Click to toggle synopsisHaving confronted Niall Boylan, Dan is getting ready to move on with his life. He assures Daisy that he is doing his best to put the past behind him and throws himself into seeking redemption by helping to save the life of a heart op baby.
Alice has set her sights on Dan and is inching towards getting her feet under the Clinic table by securing a temporary role as the Practice Nurse. She is keen to celebrate her new role with Dan.
Clodagh is enjoying her relationship with Robert who is proving to be entertaining yet serious in his intent towards her. Relations between Clodagh and Lorcan, frosty since he rejected her, thaw slightly when she asks him for help with a medical question.
Annie Ward brings her ex-boyfriend, Dave, to the night clinic in an effort to wean him off heroin. However, Dave's main interest is in getting a quick fix. He attacks both Annie and Lorcan. Annie is seriously injured. Despite the fact that he is bleeding, Lorcan is forced to help Annie and tells the paramedics that she will need anti-HIV drugs on arrival in hospital. Clodagh is devastated to learn the truth of Lorcan's condition and is hurt that he could not trust her enough to tell her previously.
Cara begins to make strides in her counselling. She takes a positive step in her efforts to deal with the fact that she cannot have children by considering signing up for a mentor programme.
Julia is initially unsure of Alice's suitability as Practice Nurse, but Daisy puts forward a convincing argument and Julia agrees to give Alice a trial. Alice rightly earns Julia's respect when she goes the extra mile with one of her patients, whilst Grace similarly has a new found respect for Dan after his efforts with her heart op baby.

| Ep. 8 | Brian Lynch | RTÉ 1 |
Click to toggle synopsisGrace finds out that her sister, Jasmine, is in Ireland and living close by. Jasmine doesn't want to see Grace and asks Grace not to tell their parents where she is. Grace fails to keep the promise and her father, Matthew, arrives in Ireland to see his long lost daughter. Jasmine reacts strongly to seeing her father and warns him to stay away from her. Grace is alarmed by this and by Matthew's sudden desire to have Jasmine sectioned. She visits Jasmine again and learns that their father abused Jasmine. Grace is left with no option but to turn her back on the father she once adored.
The gloss fades a little from Robert as Clodagh finds herself wanting to be close to Lorcan and to hear all about his dilemma. Lorcan opens up during a long night of soul-searching. The discussion ends the following morning with Clodagh and Lorcan happy that they are friends again.
Conor has not been taking his meds and his resentment is building towards Daisy. He goes on the town with Ruairi, who has just discovered that his dad is dying of cancer and plans to refuse treatment. The pair party at Ish-Ka until Conor gets a little too eager with his dance moves and it's time to leave. Conor refuses to go home and gets both himself and Ruairi arrested by his dangerous antics near the canal. Ruairi's dad, Franny, collects him from the police station and Ruairi finds a way to tell his dad that he does not want him to die but he will support him.
Daisy, meanwhile, is at her wit's end with worry about Conor and discovers that he has not taken his medication. When he comes home, he blames Daisy's new job on the fact that he is acting out. Daisy says she cannot go on like this and tells Conor she is leaving him.
Keelin discovers she is pregnant and announces that she is letting her room in the Clinic go in order to be near Ronan. Clodagh is sorry to see her go and worries how she'll cope with a new baby and Ronan's situation. Keelin assures her that Ronan and she love each other and that's the main thing. This strikes a resonant chord with Clodagh.

| Ep. 9 | Anne-Marie Casey | RTÉ 1 |
Click to toggle synopsisPatrick is baffled when a 17-year-old boy claiming to be his son is admitted to St. Matthew's after a mugging. When the boy, Fergus, produces a birth certificate bearing Patrick's name and that of his mother - Patrick's former girlfriend "Gillian Grey" the evidence is overwhelming. Patrick agrees to let Fergus stay for the night after he's discharged - much to Bernie's shock. Bernie urges Patrick to be cautious but his paternal instincts soon kick in.
Bernie sees a darker side to Fergus and later discovers that he wasn't mugged at all. She tells Patrick of her reservations about the boy. Patrick's decision to forego Bernie's best friend's wedding in Rome in order to spend more time with Fergus leads to the couple splitting up.
Julia is urged to run for the job of Hospital Director by Michael, when it's revealed that Gareth Doyle is running unopposed. Gareth's plans to end ante-natal screening in St. Matthew's set alarm bells ringing but Julia is initially reluctant to take the role. Realising that the services Gareth plans to dispense with, probably saved Fiona's baby's life, Julia decides to take Michael up on his offer. St. Matthew's is where she feels she can do the most good.
When a patient of Dan's has an adverse reaction to a cosmetic procedure, the tensions within the rival factions of the Clinic escalate. While Julia and Lorcan urge Dan to be sympathetic, Dan points out that as the woman signed a consent form, she has no legal recourse. Dan's cold, unfeeling attitude disappoints his ally Daisy who begins to waiver in her support for him. Daisy confronts Dan, warning him that they need to find a balance between profit and patient care.
Things just keep on getting better for Lorcan as Clodagh breaks up with Robert, realising that Lorcan is the only man she wants. Lorcan feels the same about Clodagh. They kiss and then spend the night together.
Cara becomes Fiona's unlikely birthing partner when she discovers that Fiona has no-one to be at the hospital with her. Baby Julian is safely delivered by Julia and a friendship between Fiona and Cara is born.
