The Sitcom Mission

30th November 2010 by Maura McHugh

The sitcommission

Every 1’s A Critic has launched The Sitcom Mission 2011.

With an emphasis firmly on script development, The Sitcom Mission is a showcase of 15-minute sitcom scripts at The New Diorama Theatre in London. For the 2010 showcase the top 16 scripts were picked from a pool of over 500 entries, and presented in front of a public audience and representatives from the industry. The Sitcom Mission 2010 was judged by comedy commissioners from the BBC, ITV, C4, Sky & Comedy Central.

This year producers from Avalon, Baby Cow, Hat Trick, Big Bird Films, Rough Cut, So TV, Talkback Thames, Tiger Aspect and BBC Radio Comedy will be in attendance. The winner from 2010, Thunderer, had a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival and its author, Brynn Mills, is in talks with Hat Trick about further development.

The deadline for entries: 14 February 2011.

Information on how to apply is on the web site.
