OneinFour Ómós Fundraiser

Ómós 2011One in Four professionally supports men and women who have experienced sexual violence, many of them during childhood. Its aim is to reduce the incidence of sexual abuse by intervening in key areas of the cycle of abuse. It does this through psychotherapy, advocacy and prevention services.

One in Four is running an event called Ómós, at the Pepper Canister, on Sunday June 26th 2011

It’s a cultural evening of music, literature, poetry and stand up performance supported by leading Irish talent. The lineup includes: Pat Boran, Mary Coughlan, John Lonergan, Paula Meehan, Kevin McAleer, Silver Stars (Brokentalkers Production). The evening will be presented by Theo Dorgan and Caitriona Crowe.

This year’s theme is ‘To be an Irish Man’. This unique event promises to be entertaining, poignant and thought provoking.

It will be held in the intimate surroundings of the Pepper Canister, Mount St Crescent, Dublin 2 (off Merrion Square) from 8pm-10pm on Sunday evening June 26th 2011.

The artists, sound engineer & photograhper are giving freely of their talent and time. All profits go to One in Four supporting therapy, advocacy and prevention projects. For example, just €50 will fund a person to attend a therapy session.

Transformation for One in Four

One in fourThe charity One in Four, which offers support for women and men who have experienced sexual abuse and/or sexual violence, is running an art fair entitled ‘Transformation’ in The Atrium, Department of Justice and Law Reform, 51 St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin on November 25th.

There is free entry to the public exhibition and sale from 1pm – 7pm, and the auction is scheduled for 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Seamus Heaney has hand-written and signed his poem ‘Limbo’ as an act of solidarity and support for One in Four. This unique and special contribution will go under the hammer this Thursday. Open bids can be placed in advance to fundraising@oneinfour.org or you can bid on the night.
