Renewing Members

The WGI membership year runs from January – December, and therefore renewal of memberships occurs in January every year.

There are two categories of membership:


This category is for writers who have not been contracted to write for payment yet, but are working to establish themselves in the industry. Associate members may attend the Annual General Meeting, but cannot stand for election or vote.

Fee: €60 per annum.


This category is for writers who have been contracted to write for payment in Ireland for the stage, screen, radio or digital media. Full membership includes all entitlements to attend the AGM, vote and stand for election.

Fee: based on earnings from writing only during the previous year.

  • Members can pay via PayPal, or send a cheque or postal order for the correct amount to: The Writers Guild of Ireland, Art House, Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2. Cash payments can be made to our office in person. We issue receipts and membership cards by post to all members. If you have any queries do not hesitate to contact us.
