The Anti-Room Film Club

Mogambo

Irish feminist web site, The Anti Room, is organising a monthly film club starting at 7.30pm (lights down at 8pm sharp) on Wednesday, July 6th at The Workman’s Club, Wellington Quay, Dublin 2 (beside the Clarence Hotel).

The first film is Mogambo (1953), starring Ava Gardner, Clark Gable and Grace Kelly. The screenplay was written by John Lee Mahin based on a play by Wilson Collison, and directed by John Ford.

Here’s the planned agenda for this on-going event: “Every month, we’ll knock heads, select a classic film and invite you all to watch it with us over a drink (sadly, the Anti Room kitty doesn’t extend to buying you all booze, but there may be some treats and prizes). The films will include classics, cult hits, new and old movies, some female-focused, some not. Afterwards, we hope to meet lots of you and have a chat about the film. “
