An animation and games conference for Students and Industry Professionals, called ISA Con 2011, will be taking place tomorrow and Friday:

Date: Thursday 6th January and Friday 7th January
Time: Daytime Sessions 9am – 4pm; Evening Session 7pm – 10pm
Venues: Daytime Sessions Anna Brett Hall, Media Building, Ballyfermot College of Further Education; Evening Session The Sugar Club, 8 Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2
Cost: Daytime ticket €20; Evening ticket €10; Combined €25

Thursday 6th January – Talks and Workshops

9 – 10am: Niall de Burca – Storytelling

10 – 12pm: Marec Fritzinger (Production Designer and Art Director) – Layout Workshop

1 – 3pm: Tony White (Animator and Author) – Workshop on Walks – ‘Generic’, ‘Stylized’ and ‘Personality-based’

3 – 4pm: Graham Gallagher (Animation and Concept Supervisor) – The Production Pipeline, what companies expect from you and what’s your day-to-day role

Friday 7th January – Talks and Workshops

9 – 10.30am: Tobias Schwarz (Independent Story Artist) – The Budget is Tight, dealing with the business side of working as an animation artist

10.30 – 12.30pm: Marec Fritzinger – Art Direction Workshop

12.30 – 1.30pm: Greg Maguire (CEO, Zoogloo; Prof of Visual Communications, University of Ulster) – 3D Creature Development

2 – 3pm: Tony White – Jumping Through Hoops – Guidelines on getting into the animation industry

3 – 4pm: Adam Burke (Animator, Pixar Animation Studios) – The Making of Pixars ‘Day & Night’
