Forced Entertainment Workshop

8th December 2010 by Maura McHugh

Project Arts CentreProject Arts Centre in association with the British Council Ireland are offering a unique opportunity to take part in a two day workshop with leading UK theatre company Forced Entertainment this January.

The Workshop
Steered by Richard Lowdon and Cathy Naden, co-founding members of Forced Entertainment, Moves in the Game will be a hands-on and practical investigation into beginnings and starting points for devised performance.

Using improvisation, discussion, text, movement and visual composition as principal devising tools, the 10-hour workshop over two days will spin through the possibilities and pitfalls that arise from generating and structuring material. With an emphasis on collaboration and group work, the participants will make short pieces in response to both specific instructions and more exploratory, open-ended proposals.

By setting a few ground rules about the process of making, Moves in the Game aims to inspire, question and challenge.
