Cultural Dimensions of Innovation

10th November 2010 by Maura McHugh

UCD ConferenceUCD is running a conference on the Cultural Dimensions of Innovation on the 15-16 November, 2010.

The conference will analyse the cultural dynamics which will shape Ireland’s economic, technological and political innovation agenda. Ireland must unlock the potential of cultural and creative industries to encourage entrepreneurship; move towards a creative economy by catalysing the spill-over effects of cultural and creative industries in a wide range of economic and social contexts.

The event will promote and establish an interface between academia, government, business and the Irish public to foster the discussion of an important current social issue.

Day 1 will focus on Academic Contributions to Cultural Innovation. Day 2 will discuss policies and case examples of Cultural Innovation in Practice. On both days we will have academics, EU officers, arts and business people giving their expert views and sharing their experiences in this area.

The cost to attend the conference is €50 each day, and tickets can be purchased online.
