Six in the Attic

Irish Theatre InstituteThe Irish Theatre Institute would like to invite applications from emerging theatre artists and companies to take up residence in their building on Eustace Street for one year as part of a new initiative called Six in the Attic, funded by the Arts Council’s Theatre Resource Sharing Scheme.

Under this scheme the top floor of ITI’s offices at 17 Eustace Street will be reconfigured to create a designated resource space accommodating six company ‘pods’. Each individual artist/company will have access to a range of administrative resources as well as a depth of in-house expertise to help them engage, explore, develop, debate and collaborate on their projects. Administrative resources for each ‘pod’ will include a desk with free WiFi access, a monthly allocation of photocopying, printing facilities, a twice monthly slot in a large meeting room (an ideal creative space suitable for workshops, castings, production meetings and artistic planning) and access to a projector and screen (on request).

In addition to the physical resources companies will have access to, ITI will provide a framework of ongoing support and mentoring including expert advice on a range of topics from, artistic planning to networking, touring, application processes, funding schemes and payroll and budget management.

Requirements

  • Each individual artist/company will have to submit a brief written proposal detailing their aims and ambitions for the period from December 2010 to November 2011 during which they will receive support (500 words) along with a CV outlining their recent activities.
  • Please indicate in your application if you are already associated with another resource sharing scheme such as Project Catalyst or Rough Magic SEEDS.
