Gothic Competitions

In the lead-up to the Bram Stoker Centenary in April 2012, the Stoker Dracula Organisation is incorporating its 20th International Summer School into a Halloween Horror Festival to be held at Clontarf Castle during October 27th- 31st, 2010.

As part of the event it’s running competitions in Gothic Horror.

  • The Stoker Academy Short Horror Film Competition. Films must be of no more than 15 minutes duration – in film, documentary or animation – and deal with a subject of the gothic/horror genre. First Prize €1000.
  • The Stoker Academy Gothic Horror Writing Competition. The format can be a prose piece, a short story, a poem, a play (drama) or a song/ballad. The theme must be gothic/horror with a maximum of 2000 words. First Prize €500; Second Prize €100; Third Prize €50.
  • The Stoker Academy Gothic Horror Photography Competition. Photos should concerning a time, place, event, building, person etc. of a gothic/horror nature. Photos must be titled and mounted – minimum size 8 inch x 12 inch. First Prize €500; Second Prize €100; Third Prize €50.
